Mechanical CAD Designer Up to £37 per hour (OUTSIDE IR35) Edinburgh

Are you an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer looking to develop your skills in cutting-edge marine engineering projects?

Ford & Stanley Interim are currently working with a fast-growing engineering services firm in seeking a skilled CAD professional to join their team. You ll be supported in transitioning to S3D software, gaining hands-on experience with one of the industry s most advanced 3D design tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive full training in Smart 3D (S3D) and apply your skills to real-world projects
• Create high-quality 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Solid Edge, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or CATIA (with transition to S3D)
• Support the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and structures within the marine industry
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory standards
• Work within the design lifecycle process, from concept through to manufacture
  Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical CAD Designer / CAD Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Edge, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, CATIA)
• Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in Smart 3D (S3D)
• Experience in the marine industry is essential
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, piping design, structural layouts, and design for manufacture
• Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings, including GD&T
• Due to the nature of the work, UK Nationals Only (Security Clearance is required)
