About the Role

This is an exciting and busy role and is a unique opportunity if you are looking to pursue a career in marketing. It will give you excellent experience working across all aspects of our festival campaign. Some of the areas you will get involved in are:

  • Assist with delivery of all aspects of the marketing and communications plan for our 2025 Festival;
  • Updating the Science Festival digital channels – producing content for the website, e-newsletters and social media channels;
  • Assisting with the design, delivery and distribution of branded materials for sponsors and stakeholders;
  • Assisting at film and photo shoots during the Festival, along with attending events and representing Edinburgh Science Festival.

About You

You will have the relevant skills and experience -

  • A high degree of computer/web literacy
  • Excellent communication skills with strong copy writing and editing skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with colleagues and external suppliers/press
  • Ability to work to agreed deadlines
  • Can work independently and contribute to a team based environment
  • Ideally have some experience of events, marketing and CRM systems, preferably within a festival setting

This is a temporary position starting in early January 2025 and contracted until mid/end April 2025. Standard Monday to Friday office hours apply but will require flexibility during the festival run in and live period, which may include some weekend working and unsocial hours.
