The Student Services department has a central role in that experience, ensuring that the best possible information, advice, guidance and support is in place to enable students to be active and successful in both their academic and social activities.
Counselling and Wellbeing is one of a range of professional support services within Student Services. In addition to Counselling and Wellbeing, Student services offered include and Employability, the Disability Service and Student Funding advice.
The Student Counsellors are responsible for contributing to the delivery of a professional counselling service for students. The service aims to support students’ academic progression, enable them to achieve their full potential and enhance their personal development.
We are looking for a counsellor holding a recognised professional counselling, psychotherapy or counselling psychology qualification that is also on a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA).
Experience of working in Higher Education is desirable. The role has considerable autonomy, requires excellent organisational and collaborative skills as well as the ability to work independently. The post holder is expected to work closely and in co-operation with other student support services at QMU
