Global and Public Health at Queen Margaret University Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) continues to see rapidly growing provision in both our on-campus and online provision. In 2023, Queen Margaret University launched online postgraduate degrees, and growth in this area continues to be strong. IGHD started new online postgraduate degrees and we are looking to recruit module facilitators to help our students through these programmes.
This is an exciting and timely opportunity to join a quickly developing team given the existing and anticipated growth in our Masters programmes. The purpose of the role is to provide excellent facilitation of online learning and marking of assignments on these asynchronous online Masters programmes, including MSc in Global Health and MPH in Public Health.
The postholders will have the opportunity to apply their skills, knowledge and expertise to our new postgraduate programmes, which share the approach taken by the division in being intellectually rigorous and research based, with a focus on global health, social justice and the environement at their core. Our programmes are designed to meet the challenges as well as recognise the opportunities in global and public health in the 21st century and will prepare students by actively engaging them in contemporary issues in health and help them develop a sound knowledge of the range of factors that impact this diverse and complex area.
We are seeking motivated individuals with an interest in global health and public health, and demonstrable experience of working on online asynchronous programmes as well as marking at Masters level. You may be in education with an interest in one of the specific postgraduate programme areas, or have a more generalist health education background in either further or higher education.
You should hold a postgraduate qualification in a related field and have experience in delivering university-level provision in a cognate subject drawing on technology to support learning. It is important that the post-holder shares the ethos of the division, school and university in being concerned with issues around health, wellbeing, social justice and sustainable development, and is passionate about applying this ethos in the delivery of our programmes.
